Amendment in H1 B visa while PERM is in progress
Hi Experts !
I am currently on an H1B visa, and my PERM application is pending approval with USCIS. The PERM was submitted in February 2024.
Is it advisable to pursue an H1B amendment now? I have another opportunity with a different customer and location.
I understand PERM process is tied up to a specific job role and location. And if my customer changes it may require restarting the PERM process.
My max out for H1 B is in May 2026, and my current PERM may be approved in approximately six months from now.
I am concerned that changing the customer would impact my current PERM process. and May required new PERM submission.
Please advise whether I should wait until the PERM gets approved. Any other suggestions?
