H1B Visa Stamping in India after extension

Hi,

I am working with a IPO company and got my extension visa till 2012.

I was planning to go to India and get H1/H4 visa stamp for me and my family at Mumbai Consulate.

I have heard that its taking a while to get the visa stamp and it has been strict than before. Can someone share their recent experience ?

Is it worth taking the risk or can I get it stamped from Canada/Mexico?

Appreciate your advice.
