Hi Everyone. My husband and I are planning to cross the border to obtain our L1/L2 visa stamp this week. Can anyone advise on the procedures or what would happen when we cross the border?
His employer had filed an L1A petition for him. He's Canadian and I am a Canadian permanent resident with a Chinese passport. On the Form-I129 filed by his employer, it was indicated that "no dependent application is filed with this petition" because the lawyer advised my L2 visa should be filed upon successful submission of my husband's L1A application. So when we cross the border together, do I need to file a separate application on the spot? what type of documentation are required?
As he is Canadian citizen, our understanding is that he would have his L1 application reviewed and processed at Port of Entry by a CBP officer. At the same time, we will file an L2 application for myself when he submit his L1 application for review? What are the procedures involved? Apart from marriage certificate and other proof of relationship (vacation, wedding pictures, etc) - Are there any other documentation we should be bringing?
We appreciate if you can share your experiences as I was not able to find much information by Googling.
Thank you!
