  • 221(g) refusal and clearance for B1 conference visa at Milan Consulate in Italy

    Dear all,

I am writing here just to share my experience about B1 conference visa.

I attended the interview at Milan Consulate in Italy on 30th Aug, 2013 with all the required documents and was given the 221(g) white paper, stating that I have to email my CV, until then the process will be pending. I did everything as required and was waiting for some reply for a while. My conference in the US was from 29th Sep - 3rd Oct and I cannot do anything than just to wait in complete darkness, since I have no idea what is happening behind the scene... I kept enquiring through email and they used to give me prompt reply, but the same copy pasted emails again and again "its under administrative processing".

Finally, I missed my conference in this waiting time and to my surprise on 4th Oct, a day after my conference in the US was over, I got a reply that my file is cleared and the visa is ready to be stamped. After this I submitted my passport and got it back within a day with the B1 visa for 3 years.

I missed the conference, but anyways I am happy my file was cleared with total wait time of 35 days.

    Mandar.
