Can an F1 student with an expired F1 visa but having a valid I-20 and
maintaining legal status throughout his/her authorized duration of stay, change status to an H1-B work visa with a start date of employment set within the 60 day grace period allowed for F1 students after program completion. My current I-20 expires on August 19, 2006, and my employer will apply for an H1-B with a start date of October 1, 2006 in April 2006. I have already used up my OPT. Is this considered legal?
