Hi,
I am a phd student right now holding F1 visa and want to get H1b from F1 student status. My consultant is ready to apply the premium H1b Processing next week and he said i may receive my H1b visa by end of july 2006. But, I cannot work till Oct 2006. So, is it legal for me to stay in US without any problem with my visa status. Because, once i get my H1B visa approved and got the visa, my F1-student visa status will be gone. But, My h1B visa will be effective from Oct 2006 only. So, am i legally having the 60 days grace period just like the guys whose O.P.T got expired and have their H1b visas.
Pl let me know asap as i am running out of time to apply for H1b visa under the 20,000 cap of Masters students...
