Spelling mistake in Pasport ( last name) fro B2 visa

Hi,

I am sponsering B2 visa for my cousin . While filling DS160 we found that there is extra letter in last name of passport. I sent an invitation letter and other documnets with correct name ? did she need to go for a name correction in passport ? or she can apply as is( as her parent name last names spelled correctly in passport) . If passport correction is not required what is the procedure to follwo ? which name to fill in DS160 ?
