Effective from 1st January 2008, the non-immigrant visa application fee will be increased from $100 to $131.
For those who have already paid $100 and got a HDFC Receipt, if they could not take interview slot before 31st January 2008, they need to take a DD for remaining $31, when they go for the visa interview.
As the slot available are at the minimum because of the upcoming holiday season, it is better to wait till January 2008 to pay their HDFC fee to avoid the need to get an additional DD for $31.
