Hi Immihelp,
I am married to a British and now living in the UK. My husband is invited to go to a conference in Hawaii and we want to combine that date with a holiday there. I am married to him last year and I need to apply for a visa.
I had a visa application interview in Feb,2009. I was refused under 214b.
I brought with me:
employment letter
3 months bank statement
3 months pay slip
marriage certificate
my husband's conference invitation letter
After being refused, I think it is because i am not well paid, I have a master's degree on translations and I am doing a job similar to admin role. But for the marriage bit, I offered the visa consular officer the marriage certificate but he didnt want to see it then refused me. He also asked if we had a joint bank account, i said yes but unfortunatly i didnt bring any proof as i thought marriage certificate says everthing.
I booked another interview to go to on 20th of March. Can you please kindly have a look and see if there is any advice you can give?
