Hi guys,
I am an Indian national and will be traveling to a Schengen country. My layover will be less than 8 hours. I haven't booked my flight tickets yet and wanted to understand where should I keep my layover to minimize the hassle of a transit visa.
From this subreddit and online, I figured that a transit in UK will require a direct airside transit visa which has a full fledged visa application.
For transit in UAE, it seems I do not need a visa for a layover of under 8 hours. This isn't explicitly stated but I could only find the transit visas for 8 to 48 hours stay and beyond, so I think this is implied .
The bottom line is that I don't need a visa for an under eight hours layover in UAE.
Please let me know if my understanding regarding the above is correct and if there is a better layover port. Thanks.
