URGENT! Surname Switched-Up on Passport and Visa
I have 2 given names (XY), and one surname (Z); full name XY Z. On my passport, my surname (Z) has been switched with one of my given names (Y) making my name read as XZ Y. My correct name (XY Z) is mentioned on all of my documents, except my passport and visa where it is XZ Y.
I wish to travel to the US for an exam that is registered with my correct name (XY Z). However, the name on my passport and visa is XZ Y. I have been told that there might be an issue when they verify me before letting me sit for the exam. The exam is in-person.
My name has not legally changed, nor has it been changed through court order. There has only been a switch-up. If I apply for a new passport, my already valid visa will be nullified, and getting a new one will be a big gamble, especially because I am running on a tight schedule. Should I call the embassy to issue a letter of some sort for this? Because, I am the same person, with the same fingerprints, DoB, and everything.
If anyone can help me in this regard, I'll very much appreciate it.
