What difference does it make if I previous had a Schengen Visa And US Visa

I recently got my single entry Schengen Visa and previous had a 5 year US tourist visa. I keep seeing people say that this is a huge boost for future travel as most countries see these visa and grant their visa really quickly. Is it really the case or is this just something that people say?

I hold a really weak passport so I would like to know if this boosts my future visa applications to other counties.
