    IMMIHELP : please make this thread stick.

    W.e.f. March, 2012 NEW RULES

    You are eligible to apply without an interview if

    * You have a previous U.S. visa in the same class as the visa class for which you wish to renew.
    * You are applying in the consular district where you want your passport delivered.
    * Your last visa was issued in India
    * You have no refusals for a visa in any category after your most recent visa issuance.
    * For a B1/B2, your prior B1/B2 visa expired within the last 48 months or is still valid.

    After application , you MAY still be asked to come for the interview .

    And if your previous visa was issued before 2008, you will be asked to come for fingerprinting if approved.
