Applied for PIO in JAN. It got returned as PIO was stopped.
After waiting for 2 weeks, I received the PIO application back, started working on OCI.
PIO money was refunded after a month after deducting the processing fee and return shipping.

Apply for OCI at least 4 months in advance of the travel. Otherwise it will cause a lot of anxiety and there is no recourse or option other than to apply for a visa.
Make sure all the documentation is in place. Otherwise it would cause delays.
If your travel date is coming closer better apply for an entry visa. Once you send the passport for matchup if you need the passport before they do the matchup and return, they say they will abandon the application.
No matter how many times you call CKGS they respond but it does not help in any faster processing.
Matchup process was supposed to take a week or two but when you call CKGS someone said 2 business weeks is 14 working days. Be prepared to all sorts of misguidance.
