Notes:
03/25: Applied passport renewal at normal processing time. Checked CKGS site for PIO endorsement and learnt that PIO is now OCI. Spoke to someone at embassy who suggested to apply for OCI and it may come in time or travel by visa. So, expedited passport renewal and got it in 10 days.
04/06: Mailed.
06/08: OCI dispatched from India (thought no use since it takes usually 15 days and we are traveling to India next week). Called CKGS and they said there is no time apply for visa. Decided to apply for etourist visa.
06/12 Evening: Arrived DC embassy in 5 days. I am leaving next weekend. CKGS customer support closed. Thinking of applying. Hope they process in a week.
06/15: Hand delivered and requested for speedy process. Chose, pickup option.
06/16: Got a call from CKGS to check if I want to pickup or mail. Fortunately, I paid for courier service at the time of application submission.
06/17: Received OCI by mail 12 PM before deadline 2:30PM for etourist visa application is 06/17 midnight.
