Birth certificate "apostille"???
Did you all go to a USA government office to get the birth certificate "apostille"? Or did you just send the birth certificate with the stamp that you usually get with birth certificates when they are first created (in the US).

I would appreciate this information. It would save me some time to driving more than 1 hour and paying $20+ to get it apostille.

This is my second time applying for the OCI. First time my application was rejected due to name difference and birth certificate image not being uploaded to Indian website. They send it right back without time for applicant to correct. They sent a note stating why it was rejected back in the $30 Fedex envelope. But who knows if its is all that a person misses or if it is all the mistakes. I lost at least $75 in that transaction due to Fedex fees, service, convenient(inconvenient) fee. I dont want to mess up a second time and have them site some other useless "technicality". Who knows what CKGS/Indian Consulate will pull out of there butt?
