Cover letter for Family Based Green Card Application Packet
Hi Guys,
This forum has been so helpful to me, I thank everyone who took the time to share or answer questions. Though this might not be the normal post, I thought I'd share how I composed my cover letter to the USCIS, as it might be useful to someone who is doing it without the help of a lawyer (our names have been changed for privacy). I am a B2 Visa overstay, I arrived in the US in July 2014, met my husband in January 2015, got engaged in March, and got married in May 2015. Yes, I am still in shock! I will be submitting the documents on the 8th of August. Of course, I am nervous, but I pray to an awesome God, and the marriage is genuine, so I have faith. I will update a timeline as soon as I get word from the USCIS: Here Goes:

• Evidence of joint State Farm credit card account.
• Utility bill in the names of Fernando and Keisha.
• Phone call and messages records for Fernando for past six (6) months, evidencing correspondence between himself and Keisha.
• Copy receipts for engagement and wedding rings bought by Fernando from Kay Jewelers, Mongolia Mall, Mongolia, Pittsburgh, PA.
• Copy receipt of doctor and dentist bills for Keisha paid by Fernando.
• Copies of Citizen’s Bank ATM generated check lodgement receipts, evidencing monetary gifts from Fernando to Keisha.
• Copy receipts for gifts and various items purchased for Keisha by Ronald.
• Copy receipts for gifts purchased for Fernando by Keisha.
• Copy receipts from dates between Fernando and Keisha
• Photocopies of debit/credit cards used in purchases, from both parties, for reference.
• Photographs of wedding day etc. with brief notes on backs of each.
• Copy bank letter and statements, evidencing change of address for Keisha.
• Evidence of correspondence by mail to Keisha at 171 Antonio Way.
• Copies of postcards and envelop sent to Fernando and Keisha, from Keisha’s family in Jamaica, and Fernando’s daughter, Meika.
FOLDER 4:
• Completed Form I-864.
SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS (COPIES) TO FORM I-864:
• Job letter for Fernando, stating job classification, tenure and expected salary for current year (2015).
• Pay stubs for Fernando, for past 6 months.
• Copies of tax returns for 2012, 2013 and 2014 (original IRS transcripts).
• Statement from ICMA account: January – June 2015, and print out of account as at July 30, 2015, which is used as supplemental income in part 7.
FOLDER 5:
• Completed Form I-485.
• Completed Form G-325a.
• Signed passport-style photo (x4) of Keisha.
FOLDER 6:
SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION (COPIES) TO FORM I-485:
• Birth certificate for Keisha.
• Passport biographic data page for Keisha.
• Passport visa page for Keisha and passport page with CBP stamp of last entry into the US by Keisha.
• I-94.
FOLDER 7:
• Sealed envelope containing form I-693, completed by Dr. Paul Frith, P. Frith, MD and Associates, 4520 Somber Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15274, USA. The required medical was done on July 27, 2015.
FOLDER 8:
• Completed and signed form I-765.
• Completed and signed form I-131.
