August 25th – Went to Interview in Atlanta, appointment was 8:45 am. My wife, stepdaughter and I prayed before we left the house. My wife and I left the house at 6:45 am because of the Atlanta Traffic, We got at the immigration field office at 7:45 am but my wife and di stayed in the car and finished the breakfast we bought from IHOP. At 8:00 am, we went inside the building, we went through the security and check in at 8:15am, and we were given a number and sent to the second floor. The place was crowded but God is great because every one at the building was so pleasant. We sat down at the waiting area and about 8:40 am, a young beautiful pleasant African American lady called out ticket number. She led us to her office.

She asked for our license and asked for my passport then she swore my wife and I. She started by asking my wife all the questions on the I-130 form and asked my wife for my birthday and where I was born .She asked me all the YES/NO questions on the I-485.She asked me for the name of my step daughter. She asked me if I was married in any part of the world, I said no, she asked me if I was married before, I said yes .In 2005 and ex-wife and I filed for adjustment of status but she claimed she never received the interview letter. She pleasantly spent ten minutes asking me questions about my old case. She wanted to see my divorce decree. She asked us for the proof of marriage .We gave her: Marriage certificate
Bank statements of joint account, leasing agreement, check book for joint account, car title with both our names on it, w2 forms for my wife and I that indicate we were married, letters from friends and family, pictures/picture Album. She kept saying give me as evidence as you can. One thing to kept in mind when going to an interview make sure you organize all your documents in order and have originals and copies of all documents. This will prevent the immigration officer from going back and forth between her office and the printer which is located outside, this will make things easier for her and as result you will get some point for preparedness. She told my wife and I that we are making their job much easier this morning. She looked at the original of every document but kept the copy. She went through our joint bank account statement and activity for August 2015 (1-24rd), she was very thorough, she saw our rental payment, direct TV payment, AT&T payment, direct deposit for our job and highlighted every one of them and she asked about almost every amount on the bank account and my wife answered her. She saw a 600 deposit and asked what was that and my wife said it came her other account and she said you have another account and my wife said yes and she asked my wife do your husband have access to that account and my wife said no, the lady laughed. She looked at our photo album and said this is beautiful. We have stack of picture, she looked at them and asked us about the people in the pictures, and out of 80 pictures she took only about 15 pictures.
She then asked us where, when and where met, who proposed, what did we do after the marriage and where was honeymoon. I was explaining how we met but my wife took over and you know woman can explain much better when it comes to relationship. She asked my wife where was the honey moon and wife said Westin Hotel in Dunwoody and the immigration officer said Dunwoody and my wife said I wanted to go to Hawaii or Bahamas but we could not afford it now. The immigration lady laughed. She then pleasantly said that I will recommend your application for approval, she started explaining about the 2 year process and that we should apply 90 days before the 2 year time line .She said since my wife is a U.S citizen, I can apply for citizenship in three years. She gave us a letter indicating that our case was recommended for approval. She pleasantly walked us back to the waiting area. We were so excited. When we got home, we checked the online case status, it stated that your case was approved and card was in production, later on that day immigration sent my wife and I e-mail indicating that our i-485 and 1-130 have been approved and two hours later case online status indicated that we have register you for residence and your card will arrive on October 24th and if you want to travel make an appointment so that passport can be stamped. The process is called ADIT.
DO NOT FORGET, make sure you take original documents with you and make at least copy of all your documents This will life very easy for the immigration and she will reward you for that This is because the interview lasted only 30 minutes and you do not want them spending lots of time outside their office. Do not forget you will be having a conservation with the immigration officer so just relax and be calm everything will be alright. You want inside with you guys so that they can positively judge your relationship. Make sure you prepare before the interview but as long as it is real, the immigration will see the chemistry but if it is not the immigration office will also know.
Thanks for all the help I received from this website in preparing for my case. God will continue to bless the creator of this website and I will pray for all the people going through this process. Be patient, your interview will come and you will be okay.
