Hi everyone,
I’m posting in hopes of receiving feedback/thoughts regarding my latest status update (if anyone else is in the same boat or had the same thing happen to them). Also, with the current pandemic and delays in processing, I thought it would be useful to keep others in the loop, who are in the same situation, or want updates on similar cases in NY.
This has been my timeline so far:
11/18/19 – PD (F1 AOS, married to USC, Field office Queens NY)
11/25/19 - Notice of receipt (I485/I131/I130/I765)
12/18/19 - Biometrics taken
02/26/20 - Notice of I765/I131 approval
03/04/20 - Notice of interview scheduled (expected interview date: 4/16/20)
03/05/20 – Combo EAD/AP card received
03/31/20 - Notice of interview cancellation (due to covid)
--- (silence for 3 months while offices were closed; no updates, no RFE’s
07/01/20 – I485 update: “New Card is Being Produced” and “On July 1, 2020, we ordered your new card… and will mail it to the address you gave us”.
I haven’t been informed of a rescheduled interview, instead the update says new card being produced… and so I’m confused as to whether this refers to the GC or the combo card (which I already received back in March). Is it possible that the interview was waived? Today is the third day and the update has not changed, I figured I would wait till it either reverted (in case it was an error) or changed to card has been mailed… but it is still on the same message.
Any one else have a similar experience? I’m hopeful that this isn’t an error and the interview was waived given the circumstances, but I’m wary because I know that’s unlikely for a marriage-based AOS.
