AOS marriage based
Hi guys, I need clarification on an issue. I applied for AOS based on marriage (my wife is a US citizen). She recently called police on me but they police told her it is not a police issue, that we should settle it between ourselves. The problem is that my wife is very lazy and has a nasty attitude ( she uses profanity/curse words frequently, she doesn’t cook (though I do), she buys food at least twice a day (so can’t save). She doesn’t want to do anything. She is collecting food stamp, unemployment and what have you. She is only 29 but now looking for a way to apply for disability. Also, I am doing a PhD program in Nuclear Engineering, it is a tough program, yet I have to take care of our son along side my school work because she stays up all night, surfing the internet and then sleeps all day, while I take care of the baby. I have held our baby and attended classes (online), wrote exam while holding the baby. I am so frustrated. If she manages to take him, after at most 20 minutes, she will start screaming for me to come and take him.
I have talked to her on several occasions for her to change but that is not happening. She always threatens to call the cops on me and she finally did. After the cops heard from both of us, they asked how I ended up with someone like that.
She is very uncultured, use the f word, B word and all other derogatory words you can think of. My major concern is for our son, growing up to that kind of life style.
Now, she said I am stuck with her forever. That even if I get her divorce paper, she will not sign it.
I have no idea what to do.
My question regarding the AOS is that I have read somewhere that if your spouse calls the cops on you during the waiting time that your Green Card, will be denied. How true is this?
We submitted the application September 2020, still have not been called for biometrics.
So with this issue of her calling the cops, despite the fact that the cops said, it is not a police issue, will that go on my record? Should I withdraw the green card application?
