My mother's visitor visa was rejected on 09 Jan 2003 because of my status in USA. She had a lot of documents with her to prove her financial and family ties but the officer did not even have a look at any of the documents.
I have Asylee status in USA and therefore I cannot file an affidavit of support for my mother. Is it possible for a family friend (US citizen) living in another state to file the affidavit of support even though my mother would be staying with me in California? He would guarantee that my mother would go back to India before the expiry of her authorized stay in the US.
Pls Advise.
