Atlanta GC interview
I have learned a lot from this forum so it is my time to return the favor.

Field Ofice: Atlanta and PD: August 14, 2015 Marriage Based

I had my first interview back in November 19 2015 but the officer gave me a notice that the case will be reviewed. Then came January, the same officer sent a notice in the mail for a follow up interview with her but we were unable to make it so the lawyer asked for it to be postponed and they agreed. Months went by with no word.
--May 17: made an inquiry as to why case was taking long.
--May 20: They responded that I will receive an interview notice within 60 days but never received anything
--August 24: second inquiry made.
--September 15: received response to my inquiry in the mail with an interview for September 21 at 10:00 AM
--September 21: We got there just before 10, went to the reception presented our appointment letter. The people working that day were confused saying that it was strange we received interview for that day as they were not having any interviews due to naturalization process that day. and they did not know who was interviewing us. So they asked us to take a seat while they find who will interview us. a few minutes later, they told us who will be interviewing us. It was a different officer than the one who interviewed us the first time.
Just before 11 AM, the officer received us in his office. he said the officer who interviewed us first was no longer working there and also, she did not leave any notes on our case nor did she leave anything for him to review. So he tried to quickly review the papers we submitted.
Then he asked when we met, he asked me (F1) if I was still studying and when did I graduate. Then He said the medical examination expired and thank God I had a new copy, so I gave it to him.
Then he said, because we filed tax return separately he wanted proof from my spouse that he was in communication with IRS because last time he filed was in 2012. He said as soon as he receives that, he will approve both i485 and i130. That was the whole interview. We left and around 5 PM we faxed the paper requested by the officer.

--September 22: at 9 AM "status changed to card producing" and later in the day status changed for both i485 and i130 to " we approved your case"

--September 26: I received approval letter in the mail and in the evening status changed to "We mailed your new card to address provided"

--September 28: Status changed to "card was picked up by USPS" and they also provided tracking number

--September 29: I received card in the mail.
It took exactly 7 days after interview to receive the card. Thank you God!

Thank you to everyone who post in this forum and good luck to everyone going through the process.
