Atlanta Interview
So I had my interview yesterday and was approved on the spot!

PD 28th November 2016, no RFEs.

My appointment was at 3:15pm, we got to the building at about 2:50 and by the time we went through security, checked in downstairs and then checked in upstairs, it was 3:10. We were one of a few families and we waited for about half hour, probably less. We brought our children with us.

We were called in and greeted by our interviewer, a young lady early 30s. Overall, she was no nonsense but also pretty friendly and accommodating, if that makes sense (she gladly got extra chairs for our kids). We were sworn in, she took my picture and my index finger prints. She asked us the basic questions, when we got married, where and how we met. She asked me where my husband was born (city and state), his birthday, where his family originated from. She went through the yes and no questions we had to fill out on the form. She asked my husband my parents' names, where I was born, my age as of that day, when I came into the country and my current status. He messed up on the name Visa I came in on, but it was okay. She also asked each of us how many times we've been married (including current marriage) and if we had any kids that weren't with our spouse. She also asked us to name our kids.

She asked for any Visas I entered on and work permits issued to me (including my current EAD). I gave her a copy of my I 20 (I came on a student visa). She kept my old EAD since it was expired. She asked for our newest tax return and I also gave her my gonorrhea results (I didn't redo it, I just asked the civil surgeon to do the test and seal it like they did before, it cost $50).

I submitted pictures (about a dozen) with our original packet, so she didn't ask for our album (I had about 50 more pictures) and made copies of about 4 of those.

Then she said she was going to recommend us for immediate approval! She congratulated us and explained the type of GC I would get (10 year) and that I would be able to travel on the GC and wouldn't have to go into the visitor's line at immigration, lol. She asked if we had any questions and then gave us the paper that said we were approved on the spot.

All in all, it took about 20, 25 minutes and then we talked for a few more. The only thing is, my status online is still saying 'Interview Scheduled'. Others said their status changed right away, so I'm a little nervous, lol. After my problems with my EAD, I'm hoping getting my GC goes as smoothly as possible.

If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask!
