Atlas america
Narendra:

Planning to buy a visitor insurance for my father.
I can take care of minor expenses upto $1000 out of pocket. Would like to cover myself for major expenses though - pre-existing (upto limits that insurance supports) or none pre-existing. So narrowed down to Atlas America - policy max of $100K - deductible of $1000.

Lets take a case where he unexpectedly gets hospitalized (in-network) and incurs say $40,000 bill of which PPO negotitated rate is $32000.
If it is a pre-existing illness and it is an acute onset, Atlas would cover $15k and I would pay (or negotiate with the hospital) for the remaining $17k, correct?
If it is not pre-existing, Atlas would pay the entire $32k correct?
If it is pre-existing and no acute, then I would be responsible for $32k?

Thanks
