B1 US visa denied
On 20th June,2005 I was denied B1 US Visa,I was intending to volunteer 1 year in a non-charitable organization. This was my first application to the US (but my passport has 2 visa refusal stamps from the UK embassy)...the consular asked me where I intended to travel, asked for the invitation letter after going through he said they didn't have a B1 visa for volunteers. He didn't even look at my other supporting documents. Should I have given the consular all my papers for him to read without asking them from me? Then he gave me a general letter showing that I did not have economics, family and social ties in my home country.

I intend to appeal on September, please advice should I give the reason for travel as visiting or where did I go wrong. Please advice me what I need to do
