B1/B2 Visa approved - Status shows Admin Processing
Hi,

I had my visa interview y'day 07-Jul-18;

First of all to clear doubts of applicants who are going for tourism/vacation but have chosen B1 in application over B2 it does not matter.
I was going for vacation & had chosen B1 in application & was later fretting that i have done a mistake. However VO did not touch upon B1 issue.

as regards the interview;

me: gm
vo: nods his head

i pass my passport to him

vo: why do u want to go to US
 (me not understanding his accent ask him 2 repeat)
me: for vacation

vo: are u travelling by yourself
me: yes am travelling solo

vo: where all have u been in past
(me not understanding his accent ask him 2 repeat)
me: list out 7-8 countries i have been in past few years

vo: how many days u propose to stay in US
me: 12 days (i had listed 2 weeks in DS160 but changed plans to 12 days later)

vo: nods & retains the passport with him (think a gesture that interview is over)

i wanted to confirm so;
me: is it approved?
vo: Yes

so there it is guys.....hope it helps....

so as of today Saturday 1 day after interview my my status says;

Administrative Processing
Your visa case is currently undergoing administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. Please follow any instructions provided by the consular officer at the time of your interview. If further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved, it will be processed and mailed back within two business days.

From those of you who are experienced i want to know is this the default update immediately after the interview??
I am worried coz i have a flight to catch on 18th Jul (some other destination) which is 7 working days away.

I was told the passport is returned within 2-5 working days.
