Visitor Visa - B2

I am an international masters student in Germany, went for a B2 visa in Frankfurt US consulate in early December; just had this conversion with some weirdo visa officer.
Here go:
VO: why you want to go to US?
ME: Am a masters student here so would like to have a good christmas and new year holidays with my long time friend in DC.
VO: your masters got nothing to do here.
ME: I meant am a student so would be in vacation.
VO: Do you know there are lot of guys in DC from XYZ country? by naming my home country
ME: I don't no
VO: didn't your friend tell you about it and DC is cool?
ME: he didn't and I asked him to show my documents.
VO: did I ask you for a document? how much is your monthly income?
ME: XYZ but I had also a chance to earn ABC amount during my internship from German company
VO: when you will finish your study
ME: September 2013
VO: that means you are in the middle right?
ME: yes but I have paper that shows the fact!
VO: did I ask u? how much is enough for you travel?
I was frustrated till this part of his question and thought it was hopeless.
ME:2000€ but will stay with my friend.
VO: where is your German resident permit?
ME: just showed him and told him am legal till Sep,2013
VO: then suddenly said your visa approved will send you in a week
ME: thank you

Now looking forward to see for how long he gonna issue it.
