Hi,
Got my Visa this morning for 10 years multiple entry, which was approved last Friday. This is how it went:
VO: How are you doing today?
Ans: Good. How about yourself?
VO: Good. Can I have your passport?
VO: Ok... lets pull your records. Alright, so you going to Illinois?
Ans: Yes.
VO: Who lives there?
Ans: My sister
VO: How long would you be going?
Ans: Just 10 days for my mandatory vacation.
VO: Mandatory?
Ans: Yes. I work with xxx company n need to take mandatory off per policy.
VO: Alright, what do you do at xxx company?
Ans: xxx team managing xxx process.
VO: And what's your pay?
Ans: xxx. Would you want to see the document?
VO: Nah, that's fine.
VO: Alright. You married?
Ans: Yes.
VO: Alright Sir. All looks good, your papers are in order. You should get your passport in 7 days time.
He smiled and added something like have a good vacation at sister's place!
It took me some time to digest the fact that after all this preperation and paper work visa officer didn't really wanted to see anything and approved my visa!!! And here I receive the courier this morning with 10 year multiple entry visa. To all this is what I would recommend:
Be confident. Look at the VO and speak.
Don't hide the facts. They just want to ascertain the actual reason for you to be visiting US and if you are funding your trip, like in my case, ensure you have sufficient funds (though in my case VO didn't ask for it).
Smile and give responses. Don't be tense or think that you are in court of law. You are only applying for a visa. Great if you get it, else you can always apply again - have that attitude.
Last, it depends on your luck as well.
