Visitor Visa - B2

Hello Folks,

Parents faced visa interview for a B2 (tourist) visa at Mumbai office. Visa was approved. Below are the details.

Questions asked -

To mom
a. Why are you going?
b. How many kids you have?
c. The name of your son's university?

To dad
a. Where you work?
b. how much you earn?
c. Give some details about property you own?

No documents were asked.

Here is the list of documents I told my parents to take with them during the interview process. Hope it would be useful for few…

1. original passport - dad and mom
2. D160 application print out
3. HDFC receipts
4. original interview appointment letter
5. 2 photos - dad and mom

6. Residence proof (for both dad and mom)
7. marriage certificate (affidavit in english)
8. business card/employment card (dad /mom)
9. employment verification letter (dad/mom)
    must include position, salary, how long you have been employed with the company, please mention vacation can be allowed on visa's approval, purpose of US trip
10. last 3 years tax returns form/receipt form-16 ( dad and mom)

    a. summary of finances – CA certificate
    b. bank deposits - cash, FD's

15. documents of the person whom parents are visiting (in US)
    a. invitation letter / document sent by the person

    e. person’s employment verification (if employed)
    f. person’s driving license
