Belt is a mess.
First of all thanks to all other members who posted their experiences which had helped me a lot.
I got my visitors visa from mumbai. Following are some suggestions:
1. Donot wear a belt when attending the interview. For some security reasons they make u remove it at entrance and putting it on again inside can be cumbersome.
2. If possible dont carry any keys and purse. Take some money, just notes as per ur requirement. They make u empty ur pockets and putting them back can be a problem especially on rush days.
3. If you are carrying all ur support documents in a box type plastic folder or holder, ensure it is transparent (even the outside cover) and doesnot have a metallic handle. Plastic handle is OK. Any type of metal is a problem.
4. VFS gives a facility called Stars and Stripes lounge. This is a very good feature to change and deposit ur luggage, mobiles and keys etc. specially who travel to Mumbai from outside for the interview. Dont think its waste of money.
