Biometrics Code 2 for I485 and I765
F1 and Marriage with LPR spouse, PD End of June 2020. NBC

I got a code 2 biometrics notice for mid August for Buena Park ASC. From what I read, Code 2 is pic, sig, and index finger print only. Code 3 is pic, sig, index finger, and all fingers for a background check.

Since I also have an I-485, I thought I should be getting Code 3 for background check. I am going to call my lawyer on Monday but wanted to see if there was any relating experience.

My guesses:

1. I work on campus as F1. I did Police live scan at my campus PD in Sep 2019, and on online, I found out that live scan uses CA DOJ and FBI background check. Maybe USCIS reused it?

2. They used my full fingerprints taken at the airport in July 2019 for a background check. They just want my index finger to produce a card.

3. USCIS mistake - I’m scared about this

I’m just scared that my I-485 case will be on hold forever until someone at NBC realizes that USCIS doesn’t have my all fingerprints to complete a background check. I’ve never been fingerprinted at ASC so this is making me kinda nervous.

*Online case status indicates that USCIS is working on my case after RFE response (birth certificate and LPR card for my wife) for I-485.
