Birth Certificate for i 485
Hello Forum,

This is such a great platform and I hope to get valuable suggestion out of it.

I am an Indian citizen married to a USC filing for adjustment of status sometime in Dec-Jan time frame. We have been preparing our package in the last few weeks. There is a discrepancy in my Birth Certificate issued from India. My last name in my birth certificate is wrong and that last name was never used for any purpose, instead my maiden name has always consistently been AAA BBB CCC.

I spoke to a few lawyers in US and India to understand how we could correct this and reduce my chance of getting an RFE.

The lawyer here suggested to submit copy of birth certificate with secondary evidence and affidavits from parents and uncle.

I saw the USCIS website for secondary evidence details. My 10th/12th school records have all my information correct but does not have my parents name. My father's name is mentioned only on my Degree TC. Will this be an issue?

I wanted to reach out to people on this forum to see if anyone had similar challenges?

Any suggestion will be of great help.
