Case was approved :') PD: 9/6/2018
I finally got my green card... kind of hard to believe, since I basically gave up on it after the 1.5 year mark. My life for the past 2 years revolved around waiting for it. I was scared to travel (didn't leave the US once), waited forever for my EAD, was anxious about work/EAD expiring, then the processing times went 3x over the pandemic...
Reading people's experiences on this forum kept me sane this whole time, so naturally I had to share my journey with you.

Here's my info:

Marriage-based to USC. Chinese citizen.

First service center: Newark, NJ
9/6/2018 - PD, submitted i-485, i-130, i-765
1/13/2019 - RFE for i-485 asking for more financial documents. I replied immediately.
4/12/2019 - Expedite request for EAD through congressman (to start work as a doctor in non-profit hospital)
4/13/2019 - EAD being produced, received card 1 week later.

7/1/2019 - Change of address to Queens, NY
7/30/2019 - Ready to be scheduled for interview
8/5/2019 - Interview scheduled
9/10/2019 - Had interview in Manhattan. All went well, but was NOT approved on spot. No such thing I guess.
11/10/2019 - 1st SR, no updates
1/10/2020 - EAD renewal submitted
2/10/2020 - EAD renewal approved. New card in production, received 2 weeks later.
3/1/2020 - 2nd SR, no updates

6/20/2020 - Change of address to Philadelphia, PA
6/25/2020 - 3rd SR, "Your case is being delayed blah blah necessary security checks"
7/19/2020 - MY BDAY
7/20/2020 - New card is being produced (were they trolling me this whole time?)
7/22/2020 - Case was approved

Processing time: 22.5 months. Guess I'm one of the lucky ones. Now it's up to like 36.

* One theory I have is that changing your address and service center location may trigger something to happen to your case. Happened to me, but just a theory.

To everyone who's still waiting: Hang in there! I flat out gave up and was planning my life back in my home country already... this process is just cruel.
