Hi Everyone,

Recently this forum helped me a lot as I went through final stages of my naturalization process. Here is my turn to share my experience for benefit of others.

I had applied my N-400 application online and the same date became my Priority Date (PD). After that this is what followed:

7/30/2018: Application Received
8/3/2018: Biometrics appointment Scheduled
8/21/2018: Biometrics Appointment
1/8/2019: Interview Scheduled
2/14/2019: Interview (application approved)
3/5/2019: Oath Ceremony scheduled
3/20/2019: Naturalization Ceremony

So it took me little under 8 months for the entire process to complete which is much faster than I was anticipating. Now two days after the ceremony, online status has not been updated and still showing that ceremony has been scheduled.

My interview experience was smooth. Officer asked me mostly same questions as in the application form. He also asked about events since the application filing and some subsequent questions based on my answers, like related to foreign travel, employment etc. I answered all questions honestly, politely, confidently and calmly.

In the civic test I got first 6 questions right so no further questions were needed. These were the questions I was asked:

- What are the two rights in the declaration of independence?
- Who is in charge of the executive branch?
- We elect a president for how many years?
- What do we show loyalty to when we say the pledge of allegiance?
- What Ocean is on the East Coast of the United States?
- Why does the flag have 50 stars?

Naturalization ceremony was administered by local USCIS field office director and lasted for about 2 hours including time needing for checking-in. It was held in a large auditorium with about 450 people taking oath that day. They were accepting voters registration there and they also provided blank passport application form (but you couldn't submit it there).

Additionally, this may be worth knowing for future applicants. After the interview my estimated wait time was showing 4 months. It changed a few times over next few weeks, from 3 months to, no estimate, to 4 months again. In the end ceremony was held wihtin 5 week of interview which came as a pleasant surprise. So I would advice to not overthink what it shows online with regards to wait time and all the best to you all.
