Denied AP for Work Related Purposes
Hello everyone,

My experience is in reference to a denied Advance Parole (AP) for business purposes.
I attended an "in-person" interview along with a lawyer that I hired. I live in California and work for a well known tech company. My travel purposes required me to travel to Mexico City to urgently meet with a few vendors. I manage a multi-million dollar account but unfortunately this did not appear to have an impact on my case.

Although my AP application was denied in person, I was told that I could submit my application via mail.
I did so and since then I have received a receipt from USCIS along with a LIN or case number. You can use your LIN number to check the status of your case here: https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do
My case was received on December 2nd and I am waiting for approval.

A few closing thoughts... The Department of Homeland Security is highly aware of the political climate and the increase in AP applications. There can only be so many terminally ill family members or urgent reasons to travel. Unfortunately, until the new President discloses the roadmap for us DREAMERS, I can only encourage all of us to make ourselves irreplaceable; By that I mean, volunteer in your communities, go to college, launch new businesses, dream high and apply for challenging job positions! But most importantly, be willing to engage in peaceful dialog with people who oppose our immigration status. Show them who we are and how much we have learned to love this country - the land of free and the home of the brave. WE ARE BRAVE!
