Do I need to update NVC every year?!!!

My I130 approved in 2018 and the visa was available so I filed the i485 on Oct 2018. Few months after I received a letter from NVC that the visa is available so I contacted them and told them that I’m here and I’m adjusting status.
In the letter from NVC it said: do not let more than 1 year pass without contacting NVC and ... ; does it mean I need to contact NVC and tell them I’m adjusting status every year? The last time I told them was August 2019.
