EAD..
I want to share my experience hoping to reduce stress of some people who are frustrated from waiting for biometrics - although not sure if it does since I'm also still stressed out.

First off, I completed my biometrics a week ago. In my mind, it was much more serious fingerprint-taking than I expected. Well, staff members are kind and no waiting in the ASC, but they took my fingerprints with a more serious scanning device ((or say, to carefully take the whole surface of my each finger) that I've never seen in US embassy or airport or DMV. This may tell you why USCIS won't use your fingerprints from airport or past visas taken at US embassy (so almost no chance they reuse your fingerprints from those). An employer in the ASC told me, now they deal with 50 people or so in a day, while previously 150 before pandemic. But in my sense, 20-30 in a day may be more correct, because in my appointment time (3pm), there was only one person before me, and nobody came at least until I leave in 15 min or so. So, say, 2 people in every 30 min, then only 30 people in a day. Anyway, the person told me they're still handling from the original appointments made in March. So it's just by chance that I got the appointment, because my expected biometrics would have been in May if it hadn't been for the pandemic. Anyway, they're so slow at least in Houston, and when your biometrics appointment is scheduled appears really not in the order they received.

And I'm still waiting for my EAD to be approved... I submitted a SR immediately after my biometrics and received their reply today. It says, they can't provide no definitive time line. So EAD sounds still far from me. I really suspect there's some politics working behind it (like delaying people who already have visa (or H1B since the current administration hates it)). Otherwise, this totally doesn't make sense to me.

Anyway, I hope you guys good luck! I really understand your frustration... but I here let you know that EAD could be crazily slow even after biometrics is done.
