EAD delayed
I applied for my EAD electronically, and submitted supplementary documents to Texas Office.
I recommend checking the processing times before applying, because in my case I would easily see that Texas processing times were behind schedule before applying. I'm not sure if you can apply using other offices.

Applied: May 26, 2015
Visit local office for biometrics: Jun 19, 2015
Approved: Jul 31, 2015
Then my nightmare started. I found a job in september, but hadn't received my card by then.
Card received: Nov 6, 2015 (164 days, or 5,4 months after applying)
After receiving my EAD, I applied for SSN.

During my long wait, I wrote to an USCIS director and nothing happened. I wrote to their ombusdman and nothing happened. I talked to 2 immigration lawyers, and they can only help you if your EAD was denied. I also visited my city USCIS office 3 times, and nothing was done to help me out. Having and showing them my job offer didn't matter.

Trust me, if everything is ok with your case, there is nothing you can do to speed up the process.

The only thing you can do, is to call their 800, and ESCALATE your call (always be polite). Ask to escalate, explaining why you need to talk to a supervisor. That way you will at least know what is wrong, or where exactly is your process (mine had a printing problem).

You can also open inquires on USCIS website, but one of them they never responded.

I know how powerless we feel while waiting; especially in my case, knowing that I wasted 5 months of my time waiting for someone to do a work that for sure shouldn't take more than a few minutes.
