EAD Expedite Rejection
I wanted to share my experience, although not good it may be of some use to someone.

I got my EAD in October but it expired within 2 months due to the DS-2019 expiring. I work in philanthropy for a public research university and tried to use this as an expedite criterion which was rejected. It was rejected again after I asked my congresswoman's office to follow up.

Now I'm waiting. I don't regret trying, but after speaking with 2 lawyers they have both advised that it's extremely rare, and that normally the expedite decision is based on extreme emergent situations, such as humanitarian reasons. Just because you meet one of the expedite criteria listed, it doesn't mean you will get the expedition. Meeting on of the criteria is a requisite for USCIS to even consider expediting your case.

Reading about others' positive expedite experiences can give us the impression that expedites (especially when politicians are involved) are an easy route to faster adjudication. I found out the hard way that they're not. Doesn't mean you shouldn't try but this is to manage anyone's expectations who does try.
