First of all thank you for all the information shared in this forum. It helped me a lot going through the painful process of waiting.
Please find below my timeline and some additional information about my I-765:
- Filed: 4th of October 2017
- Biometrics: 6th of November 2017
- Info Pass Appointment: December 2017 (I do not think this helped at all, as the lady just told me to wait. However, she wrote an email to the NBC asking about my case. But I never received any reply)
- 1st Service Request: 18th of December 2017 (no answer and not appointed to an officer yet)
- End of December I also contacted my congresswoman, however I did not receive any reply until now
- 2nd Service Request to expedite my case: End of December (was denied)
Two days ago I called again and this time I was really lucky to talk to a very nice Customer Representative who actually was able to tell me more about my case and forwarded me to an also very nice 2nd Tier Officer. This 2nd Tier Officer told me, that the current average waiting time is 3-5 months due to a backlog. They are implementing new systems, that is why the online status often is not updated. Moreover, he told me that my card was produced last Friday and yesterday (8th of January 2018) I received the approval notice and am waiting now for my actual EAD card.
I filed from Puerto Rico and my case is handled by the NBC.
So, please just be patient, and just try to take every kind of action possible. At least that is what I did to ease my nerves.
