EAD experience (marriage-based application)
Since I have been keeping up with this forum since my green card application, I thought I should share my experience as well. Things went rather smoothly for me, so know that this is possible as well.
I applied for a marriage based green card, along with adjustment of status from H-1B
Here's my timeline:
08/31/17 (day 1) - Application received
09/15/17 (day 16) - Biometrics appointment letter recvd (for 9/28)
09/21/17 (day 22) - Biometrics complete (did an early walk-in)
11/14/17 (day 75) - Made service request for I-765. (USCIS response: USCIS will review and process the request. Expect a reply by December 6, 2017) I am not sure whether this specifically helped my case, but I would suggest everyone to do it anyway.
12/01/17 (day 92) - I-765 approval notice
12/04/17 (day 95) - received the EAD card in the mail
I am now waiting for the GC interview. The approval notice said I can request for change of employers only 180 days after my I-485 is pending. Has anyone done a change of employer after they received their EAD but still had pending GC application? Your experience would be appreciated.
