EAD Work permit
I have been a silent ready for quite some time and I promised I would provide an update to this forum when my case would move along. The experiences shared by others really helped me through the waiting experience and stress generated by the uncertainty. So, I will share my timeline below and a few tips and tricks I learned along the way.

- NBC Marriage based (C9) filing from CA

- Receipt date 11/15/18
- Bio Metrics 12/18/18
- Request for Expedite 4/4/19
- Contacted Congressman 4/5/19
- Status updated to (Name was updated) 4/8/19
- RFE from expedite request 4/19/19
- Response to RFE 4/23/19
- New Card being Produced 4/29/19
- Card was mailed 5/2/19
*sign up for USPS informed delivery, create an account and ensure that you are home when card
is to be received. You can never be too careful.
- Card in hand 5/6/19
- Interview scheduled for second week of June

At the moment of filing I was in the US on an L-1 visa, however my contract was to expire in May and I would be out of employment. I expedited by calling Customer Service and in addition contacted Congresswoman. I sent a letter to congresswoman with all the evidence (letter form previous employer) stating I would lose my current job and also had an employment offer in hand. I also wrote a letter stating the hardships that my family and I would incur as I am the bread provider in the family. As soon as congresswoman contacted USCIS my case started moving, she was very helpful and understanding and would provide regular updates.

Do not be afraid to reach out to Congressmen for assistance, however remember that expedites will only work if you truly have the need and can provide evidence of hardships.

Thanks to all for your assistance, Do not lose hope...
God Bless!
