Expedite EAD Request
Hello All,

I am a new member here and have been reading a lot about all of your experience in getting the Green Card and EAD processes going. I have requested an expedite EAD on January 9 and the lady on the phone said that someone would get in touch with me within 5 days to let me know if the expedite request would be entertained or not. On January 16 (last Friday), I did not receive any calls or emails from them for requesting more information, so I called again and they said it is under normal processing.

We filed I-130, I-485 and I-765 altogether back in November.

Nov 24: USCIS received whole package
Dec 23: Biometrics Completed
Dec 26: Got a RFI (Request For Initial Evidence) for the I-864
Dec 30: Sent back the I-864 with all the supporting documents
Jan 07: Status on website for I-485 changed to they received the request to Request for Evidence; I-130 and I-765 remains the same as they just received my application
Jan 09: Called USCIS for an expedite EAD due to severe hardship
Jan 16: Called USCIS again but they said it is under normal processing

I am very confused if I should seek out to the Congressman for this situation. I went unemployed after my F-1 Status was over back on December 10 as my I-20 CPT was over at that time. My employer would keep the job open for me until I have got my work authorization. We have been burning up the savings real fast because only one of us is making money and I cannot do anything. I also found out that if the USCIS has sent out a Request for Initial Evidence, they will reset the clock. But I don't know if they will reset the clock because I fall into the category of :-

The clock will also stop if USCIS issues a request for initial evidence pertaining to the principal application/petition that serves as the basis for your application for employment authorization.
For example, if your eligibility for employment authorization is based on a pending Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, and USCIS issues a request for initial evidence pertaining to your Form I-485, the clock for your Form I-765 will stop when USCIS issues the request for evidence and restart when USCIS receives the requested information.

If I do, does that mean the clock resumes from the day they get it?

Any help from you all is greatly appreciated !!
