Filing for I-485 while out of status
Hi again,

I want to know what happens when you apply for AOS while out of status. To my understanding, AOS means you are adjusting from one legal status to a permanent one. What happens in the case where you overstayed your visa by lets say by 2 years?? The uscis website says that you are fine if you are applying as a spouse ( or immediate relative) of a USC. Anybody has experience with this ? Responses are very much appreciated.

Thank you :)
