My mother-in-law was here in 2000 on a b1-visa.
During her stay, we have applied for her extension. Although her extension got approved for another 6 months, she returned before 6 months (extension period).
As she wasn't granted 10 year validity first time, she had to appear for visa again in 2003. She was rejected. Then she applied in 2004 and 2005 with no luck.
I read through the experiences posted on this site and thought maybe we could give one more try with careful preperation.
Yesterday she got her Visa!!!!!!!!!
She opted for telugu this time, which helped a lot as she was confident in answering. Also it did help as it seems the translator was really nice and was helping her cause.
She was only asked to show her approval for extension and was asked why she had to stay back?
She answered that she had viral fever.
Then she was asked if she was hospitalized?
Answer : No
So why did you have to stay for 6 more months?
She was not comfortable in travelling immediately.
She was told that she would be granted visa this time but she should make sure that she returns in time so that she wouldn't be having problems later on.
