It's been a long and arduous journey but finally it is over for me. Uscis received my application 0n 12/03/18 and I did my biometrics on 01/07/19. We receive a RFE on 05/03/19 basically because my birth certificate was issued 9 years after I was born so they needed additional proof. I had to have affidavits from family members and friends that corroborate my DOB. On 11/20/19 we received the interview appointment letter. the interview was scheduled for 12/20/19 but we had booked a vacation trip to Hawaii so we decide to have the interview postponed. Uscis rescheduled the interview for 03/18/20 but it was cancelled due to the shut down for covid-19. Up to that point I didn't have my EAD so I started putting in SRs and calling in for the expedite of my EAD card, since it was way out of processing time. However, they always responded that my interview was in queue, and o be patient. I even managed to get a job offer from AT&T, and still USCIS didn't approve my EAD. After the reopening I went to renew my DL (in Texas the DPS checks your immigration status for the real ID), the DPS agent called USCIS to verify my status and all of the sudden I got my EAD approved and of course my DL renewed. Fast forward to 10/06/2020, we had our AOS interview That was actually pretty quick and most like a friends conversation. Today I got an email stating that my G.C has been picked up by USPS.I don't want this to be a long post but if you have any question, feel free to ask.
