Got H1b
Hi All.

First of all, let me thank the moderator of this discussion forum for bringing all of us to one place to share our experiences.

I attended to the Visa Interview in Dec second week at Chennai. The interview was very simple and went like this:

VO: Good morning. How are you?
ME: Fine. Thank you. How about you?
VO: Good. Can I see the file (green file given by VFS)?
ME: Sure. (I passed the papers to him).
VO: (He took half a minute to check that) So, What is your highest educational qualification?
ME: bla..bla..bla
VO: Good. where are you going to work?
ME: ( not sure whether he asked for the company or the location, so i said) Company..bla ..bla.. and in the state of ..bla..bla..
VO: OK. Do you have your project Description?
ME: Yes. Take a look at this (I passed the project description to him and said).. If I am allowed for a couple of minutues, I can explain you the project outline.
VO: Sure.. Go ahead.
ME: bla .. bla...(briefed him the outline of the project).
VO: (Looking into the project book), what is this data?
ME: It is the market research data...bla bla..
VO: (stopped me and said).. OK OK..What is your role here?
ME: (This is the Question I answered very nicely giving all the details about my role)..bla..bla..
VO:Good. How about your experience in this area?
ME: xxx years altogether.

Immediately the Golden words came out....

VO: Good. Your Visa is approved and you will get it in a weeks time.. All the best.
ME: Thank you officer. Have a nice day ahead.
VO: Thank you.. you too.
....................................

Thats all about my interview. He hasn't seen any of my certificates, experience letters, bank statement, payslips, company IT returns and all.

So, my suggestion is:

You never know which documents that the Visa Officer askes for. So try to carry all the relavent documents and be prepared to give the same to the VO immediately when he asks for. Have a nice indexed folder and arrange all the documents in such a manner that you can easily pick the required document without any delay. This will impress the VO very much.

Lat but not least.. BE CONFIDENT. Answer boldly. You should be very much prepared for the question.."What is your role?". If you can answer this confidently.. then you are the winner.

So ..friends.. ALL THE BEST.. Please ask me for more info.. if required.

Thanks,
R
