Got H1B & H4
Hi Guys,

I had appointment on 10th Aug 2005. Before going to interview was reading this site and was very useful so thought of sharing my experience here.

I had appointment for me (H1B), my wife (H4) and my kid (H4) on Aug 10th at 11:45. We reached consulate 30 minutes before. In the entrance they verified the appointment and passports. After this there is a security check once the security check is done you can go inside where you need to pay the Rs. 441 DD to TTS guys. They will give you token. Then proceed to first counter where need to give both Rs. 4400 and Rs 2200 DD and passport. He verifies all and give back Rs. 2200 DD, passport and receipt for Rs. 4400 DD. Ask you to stand in any counter next to him. There are four counters. That guy will verify your DS forms, I797, I129, Labor Condition Application, Marriage certificate, birth certificate, marriage photos etc. puts in a file and asked you to go to next building.

Next building hall is called Visa lobby There you need to give your token. You will be called for finger print in token order. Once your finger print is done you need to wait for your token number to be called for interview.

My interview was very short. The guy looked very young. He asked me just five straight questions.

1. What is your experience?
2. Asked for my work experience certificates.
3. Where is the head quarter of this company?
4. Where will you be working?
5. Who is the client?
6. How long will you be there in USA?

I am going through the same company I am working in India there. Also since my company is product company I mentioned there is no client and will be working in my company itself.

He didn’t ask any single question to my wife.

He verified marriage, birth certificates, marriage photos and work experience. Then asked us to pay the visa fee in counter 1 and told "Have a safe journey" :-).

I received the passports with visa for all three of us on 12th Aug.

It was very cool. Attend the interview with confident and cool.

You can take food and madicine for your kid inside.

All the best for all of you going for stamping.
