Got H1B / H4 (NON IT)
I am a regular reader of www.immihelp.com. and I have experienced that VO asks some what same question.
This site gives great courage for visa interview.

I am from NON IT background with 5 years of experience.

I got H1B and h4 (spouse) on 27th oct at Delhi Consulate.

Here is my exp at Delhi consulate.

We got slot between 12:00 -12:15.

After security check we joined non - immigrant queue. After 30 mins, verified our passport, ds 156/157, drafts, they checked something in comp and gave back all documents with Rs 4400 slips for drafts.

Then we went inside after security check up and gave our index finger prints at one counter.

After submitting TTS draft i.e. 441 drafts we joined queue.

It was lunch time and only one VO was conducting interview and after 2 hours we went to counter no 12.

ME: Good After noon Madam
VO: Good after noon, how are you
ME: Fine

VO: Please give ur ds 156/157 passport
Then she looked at 156 form and checked something in computer

VO ; Is it direct or through company
VO: How long are you working for current company
VO: Where are you going to work in US?
VO what is your pay in US
VO what is your pay in current company
VO asked me to show company offer letter and higher degree. (Here I was expecting some more questions as I am from NON IT background). God helped me here a lot.

Then she asked 2 questions from my wife
VO: When u got married
VO: Show me your marriage certificate

My advice to all aspirants is

1) Go in full formal dress, it matters a lot, its better to wear tie. They look at the candidate first.

2) Also take appointment at your respective consulate, some times they reject candidate from other region, if the requirement for travel is not very urgent.

3) For all married aspirants, please accompany your spouse, they prefer it and it is plus point for you.

4) I have seen few candidates appearing at interview , they were bending too (bringing their mouth near to the slot) much while replying to question, I would like to advice you all that while replying to question , stand straight and look into the eyes of VO.

5) Most Important - Even my L1 and my wife's F1 was refused once and I was from NON IT background and was not carrying any letter from client for the project I am going to work , then also I didn’t face any problem , So keep Faith in God and be confident.

6) Give to the point answer, its better to write down all questions and do a rehearsal before appearing for interview.

If you have any question, [email protected]

Best of luck for all aspirants and happy Diwali.

Thanks
Gurinder
