H1B, H4 Visa

First of all thanks a lot to all those people who have put their experiences on this site. A great site and a great help to all unexperienced people.

First and last keyword for success is "Confidence"

Reach at consulate before 1 hr. of your appointment.

Took the whole file(i.e Take an harmonium file) and with all the documents (i.e. 1.Passport 2. I797 3. Appointment letter 4. US Company letters 4. All docs of Indian company (current and previous companies) 5. Company website copies 6. company photographs 7.I-T returns and payslips )

- If any of the document is missing then don't worry but be confident

First is security chek in consulate
after security check you will enter into consulate's main room and they will give you your DS-156,DS-157 and they will take your I797 and passport and give you with a cover(green) and a pink token, that you should take with you and go for the finger print at window 1. At window1 they will take your docs and take the finger prints.

After giving finger prints you have to wait for your turn, they will call you by your pink token number. [ Don't worry if your turn will take more then 1 or 1.5 hrs. ]

My experience was like this:
I have an appointment of 9:00 am. I reached consulate at 7:30a.m. They took me in consulate at 8:15 a.m. Security check and finger print completed at 8:40 a.m. And my turn came on 10:05 a.m.

I was in queue at 10:05 a.m. and wait for my turn.
[At the time when you are waiting for your turn in queue , plz. stare at VO's face though he is not looking at you. Don't look here and there.]

I stared at VO's face from the queue.

Me: Good morning sir
VO: Hello
VO: Are you going to US?
Me: Yes
VO: Where are you going?
ME: I am going to work for XYZ company in ZZZ
state in US.
VO : I have not heard about this company. What is it doing?
Me: It is devloping softwares for its clients.
VO: Who are the clients?
ME: xxx,xxx,xx,xxx are the clients of XYZ company.
VO: What is your degree?
ME: I have done Masters of Computer Applications in month-year.
VO: Give me your certificate.
Me: You want degree certificates?
VO: Yes ,only MCA degree certificate.
ME: [I have given him d.c.]
[Then he looked at my d.c. for 2 mins. and tyoing constantly in to computer for something. I was constantly looking at him.]
VO: Is it an inhouse project?
Me: Yes
VO: What is the project?
ME: It is an YYY project.
VO: one minute
[ Then he went to a room inside with my degree certificate and came after 2 mins. and again typing constantly in computer.I was looking constantly on his face.]
VO: Ok I approved your visa. Take this I-797.
Me: Ok, Thank you sir.

[ Please don't look here and there in the interview. They are checking your confidence. Look constantly on his face and be confident]

Important thing is answer him in full length , don't use short answers.
Be confident otherwise they will ask for more docs.
